Chimichangas and Zoloft

Directed by Miguel Martinez

Fernanda Coppel’s raunchy and irreverent comedy examines the search for happiness and the mysteries of sexuality through the eyes of two brazen teenagers.

Cebollas

Casting three Latina X women (hermanas) living in Albuquerque, NM:
YOLIE: 20s to 30s. The youngest. If ‘unfulfilled potential’ had posters, she’d be on them.
CELIA: late 20s to 40. The Middle Child. Older than Yolie by at least 6 years. A nurse…but like in her heart not just her job.

TERE: 30s to 40s. The eldest. When she was born, the doctor spanked her and she punched him in the face.

Any person will be considered for any part. Need not be Latin. Need not be gender normative.

Special instructions:

Auditions are at the Wells Fargo Theatre in the National Hispanic Cultural Center.

These auditions cover two plays: Cebollas and Chimichangas and Zoloft. Auditioners will read for both directors on these dates and then be called back for a specific play later in the week. The two plays will be performed in repertory on alternating days. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm October 10 – 26 in the Wells Fargo Theatre at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
